My photography journey!

I’ve always felt a deep connection with animals. Growing up in the countryside, my family was surrounded by pets—dogs, outdoor cats, chickens, quails, turkeys, bunnies, and even miniature horses. Each one brought joy and stories, shaping my passion for animals. This connection laid the foundation for what would become my greatest passion: pet photography.

The Spark of Photography

Photography entered my life when my dad bought his first camera, a Canon Rebel T4i. To encourage me and my sister, he arranged for a photographer to teach us a few basics at home. From that day, I couldn’t put the camera down. Initially, I focused on nature and friends, but soon, my pets became my favorite models. Their energy and unpredictability made every photo unique and inspired me to pursue photography professionally after high school.

The Early Days: Learning and Laughing

One of my earliest memories was organizing free sessions for my final school project to build a portfolio. Some went smoothly; others were wild! I’ll never forget one energetic dog who ran around me, tangled my feet with his leash, and jumped on me with muddy paws. Today, I laugh about it, but it taught me patience and adaptability—two essential skills in pet photography.

My Inspiration: Ivy, Atlas, and Mango

Today, I’m lucky to share my life with two amazing Shetland Sheepdogs, Ivy (8) and Atlas (6), and a rescued cat named Mango (3). They’re not just my companions—they’re my inspiration. Whenever I have a new creative idea, they’re my go-to models. Their smart, eager-to-please personalities push me to grow as a photographer and as a person.

Growth and Accomplishments

Photography is a journey of constant learning. I’ve discovered techniques to capture each dog’s unique personality and tricks to get their attention. One of my proudest moments was winning a trophy and ribbons for “Excellence” and “Creativity” at the “Photographes Professionnels du Québec” competition during my student days. It was a milestone that affirmed my passion and hard work.

Why I Love What I Do

Every pet and their owner have a story to tell. My goal is to capture that unique bond and personality in every photo. I keep my style natural but always add a personal twist, ensuring each image becomes a lasting memory. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing a pet owner’s face light up when they see their beloved companion’s essence captured forever.

This is just the beginning. I’m excited to continue growing, learning, and capturing the extraordinary spirit of pets who bring so much joy to our lives.
